John Bunker Sands Wetland Center
Grand Opening Education Day October 8, 2010
120 students from Crandall Independent School District participated in Education Day on Friday, October 8, 2010 as part of the grand opening of the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center. The students explored the boardwalk identifying various species of birds; examined the plants, soils and water of the wetland ecosystem; toured the active cattle ranch and learned how to conserve the water around their homes. The Education Day hosted the first of many students to visit the Wetland Center from the surrounding communities and cities within the East Fork River Basin.
