Grand Opening Ceremony October 7, 2010

The grand opening of the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center was on October 7, 2010 with over 300 people attending as representatives of the North Texas Municipal Water District, the Sands Family, The Rosewood Corporation, Alan Plummer Associates Incorporated, supporters, family and friends. Several inspiring speeches were given that focused on the legacy of John Bunker Sands, the vision of the East Fork Wetland Project and the education and research of the Wetland Center. Members of the Sands family layered green and blue sand to signify the formation of the unique partnership of The Rosewood Corporation and the North Texas Municipal Water District that formed the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center. Many thanks to the numerous volunteers that made this day an unforgettable event.
